Elementary Retreat aka I work with the most awesome people

A while back, I asked you to pray for the Elementary Retreat we were heading off to. I asked that you would pray that I wouldn't go into my shell, and that relationships within the Elementary Staff would deepen. While I did go into my shell some, I was much more open this time to spending time with other and deepening relationships. And I found that it really wasn't hard, because these people are amazing! We had a blast and enjoyed being together. We drove to a resort outside of town which was a gorgeous golf course with beautiful grounds. We played ice breakers and team building games, and met in small groups for meetings regarding content standards. We had large group meetings about several different topics. Among theses sessions, my mentor teacher (and dear friend I might add) led two. They were very informative regarding many issues some of my students are dealing with, and how I can best teach them.

I've posted some pictures from the retreat, taken by the Tech Staff that accompanied us. All in all, this weekend was an answer to prayer. Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support! I'm blown away at how God provides and answers prayer. I feel, on a daily basis, His presence and an overwhelming feeling that I'm supposed to be here. That feeling doesn't make the struggles I've encountered any easier, but it guides me to look to Him first in all situations, to wait on Him in how He will lead me through it. He holds my right hand and never lets me go. Your support is such a huge part of my being here and what God is doing within me and through me. I pray He blesses you ten-fold for the blessing you've poured out to me.

Airplane Crash Team Building: each of us were given different abilities and disabilities. We all had to make is off the crashed plane before it blew up.

I had "lost my legs" in the accident so my mentor/dear friend came to carry me off! Laughter ensued :)

The whole Elementary Staff! These are the most encouraging group of people anyone could ask for. So thankful for them!!

We have fun even during meetings about Standards

This is Pii Noi. She pretty much runs the school. Here she is teaching me about an interesting looking Thai dessert and encouraging me to try it :)

Look Look! I actually stepped up and explained our poster! (Mostly because the other two ladies in my group refused, but nevertheless this is proof that I wasn't in my shell all weekend!)
Ready to take on the rapids (aka the tiny little pond-ish thing we kayaked on)
