[Warning: this may be a long post. Upside: there are pictures! ]
My family and I get to LAX and I go to get my boarding pass. First I was questioned by the attendant checking me in, which went down something like this:
Him: "Ma'am, do you have a return ticket?"
Me: "Nope!"
Him: Shocked face. "Um… do you… live.. there?"
Me:"Nope!"
Him: "Ummm…." Seriously concerned face.
Me:Show off my visa.
Him: Looks at the date. "You got this last week?"
Me:"Yep!"
Him: Smiles.
Then, he does this and that, checking my luggage (all were perfectly at weight!!) and tagging it all, he stops and says he needs to talk to his manager. Now, its really busy and the manager is jumping back and forth helping all the the attendants. I start getting nervous, thinking something is wrong with my visa, or luggage, or ticket. After asking what was wrong, he explained to me that another family wasn't seated together and my seat was right in between them so they were trying to figure out where to put me if the family were to be together. Manager comes, and the problem is solved. I'm get bumped up to the upper deck (More leg room! as the attendant is excitedly and repeatedly telling me). I assume its about an inch more than the lower deck, and my family and I precede to make jokes about it.
After checking in, my family and I go sit near the entrance of security to spend a few more minutes together before I leave. After a few pics, prayers, hugs, and tears I head through security without a problem and precede to my gate and board. When I get to my seat, I notice that not only is my seat an upper deck seat with "more leg room!" but an aisle seat, in the emergency row. I had 4 feet between my seat and the back of the next seat! God had picked out that seat exactly for me. It amazes me, that not only did God provide the money for a seat on the plane, but knowing how nervous I was about flying alone, He cared for me and provided this amazing seat where I proceeded to have nice seat mates, and a personal TV, a warm blanket, and 4 feet of amazingness spread out in front of me for both my 10 hour and 7 hour flights, and was able to sleep a decent amount on both long flights. The food was even somewhat good on the first flight! (It went downhill after that though) I am blown away by the small ways He shows me He sees, He knows, He cares, and He loves.
All my flights and layovers went smoothly with no problems or issues. So here I sit, in the kitchen of one of my sister's teammates, T, totally jet lagging (its 3pm here and I SO want to fall asleep.) I will be living with Tammy until J, E, and the kids return from the states in a few weeks. T is so sweet and such a blessing. She picked me up from the airport, treated me to a delicious thai lunch, and drove me to Big C (the local Walmart-ish store) so I could buy the essentials that I didn't bring with me. Tomorrow morning we will head to school, so I can meet my new principal, turn in paperwork, and hopefully see my new classroom!
Love to you all!
